Tipping Etiquette
First of all, If you’re reading this blog and curious about tipping, I appreciate your generosity in wanting to do so! 🙂
My thoughts on tipping are that typically, you don’t need to tip a business owner. This includes me and most of the vendors I work with. Since my vendors are business owners and I don’t take commissions from them, so they’re already getting 100% of their full rate!
If you DO want to tip for any services (again, thank you!) The person I recommend tipping is the hair and makeup artist. The HMU artist team that I work with is fairly big, so most of the artists don’t own the business, therefore, they aren’t getting the full rate that you’re paying for their service. I know they would be very appreciative of your tip!
If you want to tip your HMU artist, the best way to do so would be to bring an envelope for the vendor and give it to them on your wedding day. You can also ask for their Venmo account on the wedding day.
Here and here are a couple of blog posts that talk about tipping etiquette for your wedding. It should answer any more questions you might have, but if not, feel free to ask me questions about my personal tipping thoughts!
To summarize: Tipping is never expected, but always appreciated 🙂
