Laidback Maui Elopement – Caitlin & Darby

Caitlin & Darby – wow, I have so much to say about this amazing Elopement. Where to start?! They were coming to Maui to celebrate 7 year of dating and said “hey, let’s get married already.” You see, they were engaged for about 2 years and like all couples from the 2020, wedding plans had to be put off. While Caitlin was researching the trip she came across my website and saw that I’m not only a photographer, but I’m also a Maui elopement planner. Cue the wheels turning! With just 6 weeks to spare, Caitlin reached out and we got the ball rolling.

Hawaii has always been a special place to Caitlin & Darby so they really wanted locations that showed that off. They also wanted to be surrounded by greenery to start the elopement. Iao Valley was the perfect location to show off all of Maui’s greenery. Iao is located in central Maui making is easy to access from most of the island. As the name suggests, you’re down in a valley surrounded by mountains all around you.

After photos at Iao Valley, we headed down to Kanaha Beach Park to meet up with our officiant, Euta. It was a windier day so we decided to have the ceremony in the woods so that Caitlin & Darby would be protected. This was my first time having a ceremony in the woods and I really loved it! After the ceremony we ran down to the beach for some photos at sunset to end our time together.
